“We are going to have the current limitation (in the IPL’s duration), and we are happy to live with that. Then (if we make it a longer tournament) you are going to starting to hurt the other forms of the game,” Modi said.

“We chose the window specifically to be off-season in India, April-May are typically off season in India … I don’t think we are going to be able to change that,” he added. The IPL 2010 will have 94 matches in the 2011 season but Modi said the tournament will only be 51 days long.

Cricket has always been the most loved ever and entertaining sport since times immemorial, which all started in England but got infused into the hearts of millions of people across the globe with the genesis of the IPL that revolutionized the cricket world like never before! Because of the involvement of Bollywood and Politics, the Indian Premier League 3rd season has gained all the more hype and has become one of the most controversial seasons of the time. Starting from March 12th, 2010 running till April 25th, 2010 it will contain 60 games in total and 4 new venues ( Nagpur, Visakhapatnam, Ahmedabad and Dharamshala) have been added to the list. With just few days to go Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders are all poised to set the stadium on fire on the 12th of March in the opening game.

World has already taken notice of all the eight magical teams namely Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Kings 11 Punjab, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians which have more or less shown their caliber in the first two editions are all poised to set the stadium on fire. Lalit Modi, the IPL brainchild on announced that there would be a strategic time-out during each game. The batting team would have to take the 2 and a half minute time-out mandatory between the sixth and eighth overs while the fielding side would have to take the time-out between the 11th and 16th overs. Apart from this new change, now millions of Indians across the world are going to be elated as - the Indian Premier League can now be watched live on video sharing site YouTube! With the rising fever of IPL 2010, telecom service operator IDEA Cellular has stepped up the tempo by announcing a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the IPL 2009 Champions, Deccan Chargers. Surprisingly, the economic slowdown has not affected the bidding process but of course the MumbaiPakistani players to participate in the grand tournament. Unfortunately, Abdul Razzaq will be the only Pakistani player in IPL 3.

Ultimately I would like to say that, despite of all the controversies and politics revolving around the tournament, the IPLcricket aholics, this summer is going to be the hottest one, as once again you are going to experience the biggest ever sporting event in the history of the cricket! terror attacks have for sure affected the has made it to the fourth spot of the Forbes list of the world’s hottest sporting properties! So, all the cricketaholics, this summer is going to be the hottest one, as once again you are going to experience the biggest ever sporting event in the history of the cricket!

It’s a remarkable achievement in the history of cricket, as none other player has succeeded in this.

MS Dhoni is right. No. 5 is the perfect position for VVS Laxman. It’s where India need his abundant experience, a position that links the top order to the inexperienced middle and lower ranks. It’s a position of responsibility, meant for a secure man like Laxman, who has worked hard to come to terms with his role in the team.

As soon as Laxman was declared fit for the second Test, the question was where to fit him in the batting order? His desire to bat at one drop is well known. That, coupled with his aggressive batting, which has dominated even the best Australian attacks, may have been reason enough to slot Laxman at No. 3 in Rahul Dravid’s absence, especially if one of the openers fell early. But India needed an experienced hand, along with MS Dhoni, in the middle order. And so Laxman stayed at No. 5.

The series and the No. 1 ranking were at stake when Laxman walked on to Eden Gardens on Monday evening. He survived that testing period, another one on Tuesday morning and finished unbeaten with a fabulous century, his fourth at his favourite venue. Laxman became the first batsman to pass 1000 runs at Eden Gardens, and only the second Indian after Sunil Gavaskar to do so at any venue. More Delails
